Who is Luigi?

Luigi is only one of 1700 baby bunnies & 300 puppies rescued by BWF since 2008.  Thanks to our incredible Foster Power, BWF has welcomed 150 Santee Alley babies in the last three months only!

On April 30,  2011 Luigi came to BWF as one of 41 baby bunnies confiscated (in ONE DAY!) by the LAPD during a raid on illegal animal vendors in Santee Alley, Los Angeles Fashion District.  Stuck in a tiny cage, eyes still closed, Luigi, now an integral and much-loved member of the BWF family,
was only 7 days old when he arrived at BWF's doorstep.

Since that day, Luigi has charmed bunnies and his human caretakers alike with his habit of incessant kissing. It is known throughout the BWF land that Luigi is insatiable in the sweetest, kissiest, best way possible.

However, our little Luigi has epilepsy and he needs to be treated.  Rabbits, much like humans, can suffer from epileptic seizures or bouts of involuntary body movement and function.  During these periods of excited cerebral activity Luigi is very vulnerable, as the seizures themselves can cause brain damage.

Please donate today towards Luigi's Epilepsy Treatment!

No donation is too small ...and it's tax-deductible!

Thank you for saving lives of the voiceless!

Luigi is set for an appointment with a Veterinarian for blood work and treatment on Friday, February 17th.  If there is nothing wrong with the test results, the only other alternative is an MRI which costs about $750. Depending on the results of the tests he could be put on a downer drug if he continues to constantly thrash about and be in danger of hurting himself. Overall veterinarian expenses are estimated at $2,000.

Fortunately, Miss Blue Spanish Eyes is there to save the day.  These days they share everything - toys, food, the litterbox, and now...each other's true love!
